The golf instructors at Tenison Park have created a series of programs specifically geared toward women golfers at all levels of play.
These programs provide women golfers with opportunities to discover, participate, and develop confidence in their game; they help increase their knowledge that will help improve your basic playing skills. In addition, what could be more fun than meeting and networking with other women interested in golf while benefiting from additional instruction? The golf staff at Tenison Park are experts in organizing tournament play, coordinating group play, and hosting a variety of fun and informative clinics. After you are finished with these programs you will never have second thoughts about accepting an invitation to a corporate golf outing.
Our Head Golf Professional, Becky Maciolek has a very personal interest in women's golf and is especially motivated in making women's golf a success at Tenison Park. Becky is a fully qualified PGA Member as well as an LPGA Member of the Teaching and Club Professional Division. Her number one interest is to assist women golfers with their learning and to provide a friendly, supportive environment for their overall golf experience.
Becky has designed a number of activities for women golfers and has also created unique classes directed towards your particular experience level be it beginners, intermediate or advanced. A wide range of activities are available that will match your skill level and subsequently increase your enjoyment of the game.
All female golfers are encouraged to join the Tenison Park Women's Golf Association. TPWGA membership dues are $40 for the 2011 season (a reduced membership fee of $30 is available if you are not interested in handicap service). This $40 fee includes USGA Handicap service, Free Golf Clinics, introduction to various popular golf games, Happy Hour events, as well as the Tenison Park Golf Club Association News, a newsletter informing you of upcoming events and special golf shop sales. We also have a discounted membership fee for those who are renewing their previous years membership.
Tenison Park uses the GHIN (Golf Handicap Information Network) handicap system. The GHIN system is a nationwide system that can be accessed over the internet. The biggest advantage of this system is that you the member can go online and enter and track your own handicap. Visit www.ghin.com to learn more about handicaps.

Tenison Park Golf Club has tournaments for its members throughout the year. These tournaments are open to men and women alike. In addition, the TPWGA has tournaments for women only. TPWGA tournament formats include individual, scramble and best-ball events.

Becky and our other instructors can cover all aspects of the game in an un-intimidating setting, where women can experience learning the game together. You will learn basic swing fundamentals, full swing with irons and woods, as well as bunker play and chipping and putting. If you are a real neophyte, our instructors will even cover the Rules of Golf and Golf Etiquette. And if you happen to be a long time player in need of assistance with a slice or a hook, they'll work with you to eliminate that nuisance. Tenison Park offers special golf clinics designed to improve your short game and develop better putting skills as well.
Your learning process can be further accelerated by taking advantage of Tenison Park's Indoor Practice Facility. A video computer analysis system is available when taking lessons with Scott Akers, our Director of Instruction, at the Range at Tenison Park. This new technology allows you to see and discuss with Scott the strengths and weaknesses of your swing; then you can take home the tape of that lesson and review it as often as you find it necessary.
